6. Merv Hughes & Viv Richards - During a test match in the West Indies, Hughes didn’t say a word to Viv, but continued to stare at him after deliveries. “This is my island, my culture. Well, anyone who has taken a close look at this site can probably work out what my favorite film of all time is… however it would appear that my favorite movie, The Castle has been voted Australias Favourite Movie of all time.

The Castle was announced as Australia’s favourite film at the L’Oreal AFI Awardsin 2008. It won the award ahead of four short listed Australian films – Gallipoli, Lantana, Muriel’s Wedding and The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

In recognition of 50 years of the AFI, a public poll was conducted in late July by the AFI in association with Australia Post. The public voted online at the AFI website which had an extensive choice of Australian films. In recognition of the public vote, five films were chosen. These appeared as five stamps and were released as the Favourite Australian Films stamp issue on 3 November 2008.

After 3 long and cold years stuck in between freezing English winters and the alleged “English Summer”, I have had enough and decided to pull up stumps and return to the warmer climates down under. So I guess you are asking, what does this mean for Echidna? The answer is – our customers are unlikely to notice any changes!
